SEAWEED

The seaweed from this project was sourced on the coast of Maine, just south of Portland, and photographed in my studio. The plan was to photograph the seaweed submerged and floating in water through a clear tank, however the project turn a turn when I discovered the incredible beauty of the textures and tones as I let hang and dry out. I was particularly drawn to the curves and the bulbous shapes found in the macro view, the dried crystalized sea salt was an unexpected detail that I really love.
